Bicycle -life line of Pondicherry,South India.
Bicycles ruled Pondicherry streets  and going to share my experience from 1973 to 1982 .
Fascination for bicycles starts very early and everyone must have ejoyed small  tricycles in theid child hood  and after some years around 10 or above you want to try a bicycle 
I also got a cycle .the average daily commuting started around 2 to 4 kms and went upto 10 to 12 kms when i entered college .As a cyclist,we enjoyed throughly  .We occupied the big  streets  along with friends singing popular film songs .Remember there were no TV,phones  and other  distractions .So one has to pedal  out to the cinema halls, parks, restaurants or beaches for fun and entertainments  .Every college goer of our college followed like 6 to 8 pm must visit at beach .The cycle Population was so big ,Police personal used to regulate it during parking .
Sometime our cycle tyres got  punctured then we have to ride two cycles at a time till the cycle shop.Triples on the same cycle will give enough stamina equal to your gym work out today .
Less no of motorised vehicles,clean streets,approachable markets  ,cinema halls ,finally small ,breezy , beautiful beach which attracted us to enjoy ourselves using our cycles and this small write up dedicated to all cycle lovers.

Sweet little kid

Varun.Sweet little kid. Let us invoke the learner in us. Let us learn from everywhere. A small story. In my apartment floor, there are 6 flats., that consists of families speaking different languages. Telugu Kannada Bengali Badaga (one of the languages of Nilagiri hills belt) Tamil -2 families. A cute 2+ age, a little boy named  Varun of one of the Telugu speaking family visits all of us daily. He identifies the small things and repeats what we say. Suppose we ask him, show us the Buddha statue in Tamil and he understands and take us there. He may be playing and running inside  around for 15 minutes  or so, interacts with us in Tamil sometimes .we are also recollecting our Hyderabad days and try our little Telugu also.
