Culture -Influencers

When I was working in Delhi, was allotted a two-bedroom govt quarter.
During those days getting accommodation was very difficult.
As a bachelor, I had shared my accommodation with two of my colleagues at a time. They were from different states.
From Kashmir to Kanyakumari , UP to Bengal.
It enabled me to experience different cultures, food habits, and observe new things.

Kashmiri friend introduced me to the world of Ghazals. He used to share the meaning of important ghazals as it was in Urdu.

UP friend a great cook, changed my rice eating habit to switch over to Rotis, Sabji, Salads.

Bengali friend and I discuss common things about literature and poetry citing references from  Bengali and Tamil languages.

Kanyakumari friend an athlete. inspired me to carry out daily warm-up and exercises

My office quarter became a cultural hub.

Since we were doing shift duties, complete coordination was there and even today we cherish our memories.

When I bring back my memories, this cultural exposure helped me to listen and connect with my clients easily. Every Org has got a culture and as a BDM needs to interact with Sr  Management, Middle, and the operation level teams.

Takeaway. Business or personal one can adapt, be receptive to different cultures.
