My first interview

HAL Bangalore. It was 1981. Facing my first interview Scientist B Post of a big prestigious institution at the age of 19. Little tense and nervous, entered the interview room.

There were six panelists, comprising of three male and three female members.
The first mention was about my name. One of them asked me about Bharat Ratna Sri Viswesvaraya which profession he belongs to. I said immediately a Scientist. They could not control their laughter. The next person asked, please tell us about his contribution to Mysore.
Immediately I told them he was an architect of Beautiful Mysore Brindavan garden. Again could hear laughter. Tell us what is special about the park?
I was about to say the water from the dam diverted to flow through the steps and nice fountains, then stuck to me about the Dam and able to recollect. Said I was wrong, He was the Cheif Architect of the KSR Dam and the civil engineer by profession.
Every one clapped. My nervousness vanished and I felt comfortable. The interview further continued and I felt very happy to participate in an assembly of intellectual who helped me. Though I was not selected and this incident resides in my memory forever.

Sweet little kid

Varun.Sweet little kid. Let us invoke the learner in us. Let us learn from everywhere. A small story. In my apartment floor, there are 6 flats., that consists of families speaking different languages. Telugu Kannada Bengali Badaga (one of the languages of Nilagiri hills belt) Tamil -2 families. A cute 2+ age, a little boy named  Varun of one of the Telugu speaking family visits all of us daily. He identifies the small things and repeats what we say. Suppose we ask him, show us the Buddha statue in Tamil and he understands and take us there. He may be playing and running inside  around for 15 minutes  or so, interacts with us in Tamil sometimes .we are also recollecting our Hyderabad days and try our little Telugu also. Online classes
