Mentor
Mentor- Baby steps.
Sharing my real life experience .
In 2002 ,part new role of Pre Sales .undergone three days personal skills training.Impressed by the trainer , asked him how to acquire mentoring skills .He suggested two things.
Take few selected people whom you can listen ,observe and converse. If you feel you can encourage and motivate them to understand their own strength ,then mentoring process starts
He also suggested that go to incognito mode so that they should never feel that you are grooming them .
The opportunity came to me
In 2007, during a summer internship, was asked to train a team of 15 final year students for 15 days. We used to travel in the bus daily. I made it a point to sit with all of them on turn basis daily . I used to interact general topics ,goals, aspirations.
During the last day told them that I want all of you to be successfull and keep looking for opportnities . Keep learning life skills too .Please believe in yourself and who knows you may land here also .In 2010 I was having lunch and two guys greeted me and said they were from 2007 summer intern batch. Told me they got placed. They thanked me and said we remember even now also.I said it is your hardwork and self belief brought you here .
Felt happy .
