Physical Vs Online Retail stores

Physical Vs Online retail stores

Digital revolution, use of smartphone and internet availability has helped customers to go for online shopping and considerable sales had happened for the past 10 yrs.
Yes, the major share belongs to gadgets, clothes, and home appliances.

The opening up of the economy started by the govt lead to the middle class to go for the essential and entertainment home appliances, consumer durables, etc.

Between 1991 and 2000, a lot of companies have established a chain of physical stores.

As a  consumer, I had the opportunity to buy most of the appliances from time to time.

Here I wanted to share my experience of a  physical store first.
1. The young salesman greets with a warm smile and politely asks us the requirement.
2. He takes us to a particular area and call the SME and gives a walk through the products
3. Addresses all our queries, show us all the similar offers from other manufacturers.

4. The manager introduces himself and greets us. Happened to be an old customer, then the manager will give you special treatment, remembers, and recognizes you. A VIP treatment you get for an ordinary middle-class buyer.

5. The billing, delivery and installation experience are  extraordinary and this overall  commitment brings the customer for the next purchase .
6. The two hours spending is worth a learning process for any business owner how his product should be aligned for the customer needs and evaluation .

Coming to the deep discounted online markets, they have a network of distributors who supply the items.
Here there is no emotional bonding and the delivery person drop after a very long waiting time compared to a physical store and the service technician visits for the demo sometimes after repeated reminders.
Physical stores the support team ensures the same.

Even though I shell out a few hundred more to  the direct selling teams, it is worth having a beautiful buyers experience.,the meeting, greeting, smiling, and more than that I learn how to deal with my clients, even though our business model may be different but the Seller and buyer concept remains all the same.

Online lot of advantages, tech user-friendly finger touch but i prefer  human-friendly , human touch more.

This is my personal  experience ,understand  others may have a difference of opinion. I respect that.

Which one do you prefer?
