Hire ,train local talent.

Excerpts from TOI  today's Chennai edition .

Tamilnadu CM appealed to the manufacturing sector to train and employ local talent to compensate for the loss of migrant workers who have left for their homes.

Hope other states of India also might have initiated these  kind of measures
.
Hire and train.
One thing came to  my mind was about our training during  probationary period  38 yrs back .

We were raw when we entered into telecom govt  company .

Related to the context ,sharing my thoughts .

One practical skill combined with theory .

International telegram was at it's peak.
Daily we used to practice typing using   Teleprinters, typewriters attached with a electronic device for transmitting and receiving messages. As an engineer  ,we could not  figure out why we are asked to undego this .

Then we understood after going  the following steps .

First thing we learnt was theory ,
How telegram operations and delivery  functions .
How to prepare the content,formatting and forwarding .
How to  handle volumes .( here typing speed comes to picture )

Hiring of local people and train them can be of above nature  and depending on the industry this can be customized  and tailored to the manufacturer requirements

Sweet little kid

Varun.Sweet little kid. Let us invoke the learner in us. Let us learn from everywhere. A small story. In my apartment floor, there are 6 flats., that consists of families speaking different languages. Telugu Kannada Bengali Badaga (one of the languages of Nilagiri hills belt) Tamil -2 families. A cute 2+ age, a little boy named  Varun of one of the Telugu speaking family visits all of us daily. He identifies the small things and repeats what we say. Suppose we ask him, show us the Buddha statue in Tamil and he understands and take us there. He may be playing and running inside  around for 15 minutes  or so, interacts with us in Tamil sometimes .we are also recollecting our Hyderabad days and try our little Telugu also.
